Resolutions to reality
Hello, welcome back to blog
How is 2016 treating you so far? Have you been busy? Did you make any New Years resolutions? More importantly can you remember what they were and are you on the path to achieving them?!
Unfortunately the majority of people who make New Years resolutions fail before the end of January!
But this does not mean you have to be one of them...
The first thing to do is write down your goal; this makes it feel real and helps you commit to your goal, you may also want to tell a friend, family member or your personal trainer. Sharing and vocalising your goal helps to reaffirm your desire; whether you want to lose weight, improve your diet, give up smoking, run a 10k or learn a new language.
The next thing to think about is whether your goal is SMART
- Specific
- Measurable
- Achievable
- Realistic
- Timed
You can read my blog about SMART goals here
Once you have checked that your goal is SMART you can think about breaking your goal down into short term, medium term and long term goals.
For example: if your goal is to run a 10k in July your short term goal may be to run for 15 minutes without stopping by the end of February, your medium term goal may be to run 5k without stopping by the end of April and your long term goal would be to complete the 10k in July.
Setting smaller goals along the way can help to keep you motivated and on track whilst working towards your main goal.
Give it a go; write down your goal or New Years resolution, make it SMART, break it down into smaller achievable goals and MAKE IT HAPPEN!
If you want any help or advice with goal setting or achieving your goal then please get in contact; sharing and vocalising your goal makes it feel real and brings achieving it one step closer.
What is my New Years resolution I hear you cry... ask me and I may just tell you 🙂
January has been a very busy month for me and the health & fitness industry as a whole, getting fit and exercising is becoming more and more popular year on year. This can only be a good thing for everyone; healthy people = happy people!
This month I launched our new total body fitness class for pregnant women & mums; Mamafit® all at Enterprise South Liverpool Academy, L19 5NY. The launch went great and the classes are proving to be a popular addition to the current Mamafit® timetable.
I really enjoy teaching Mamafit® and pride myself on making my classes fun and enjoyable, even for those who don't like exercise! All Mamafit® classes take place in relaxed atmospheres where mums to be, mums and babies are the priority. I believe creating a comfortable & fun environment for classes is key in encouraging regular exercise and adopting a healthy lifestyle; supporting mums to be a healthy role model for their children.
Why not come along and experience Mamafit® for yourself?
Those of you that have already attended Mamafit®, have older children and may of returned to work why not come down and try our new Mamafit® all class?
Mamafit® all is designed for women of all stages of pregnancy and mums with children under 5 years old.
This month has also been busy with Personal Training clients too; 1 of my long term clients has recently found out she is pregnant with her 2nd child. She is continuing to train as hard as ever and is hoping to still be able to perform full press ups at 40 weeks pregnant as she was with her 1st child. Another regular client is getting married later on in the year and is training weekly with her 3 bridesmaids in preparation for the hen do and her big day! The sessions are really fun and the conversations are usually pretty interesting too...
That's all from me this month.
As always if you have any questions, would like to book Mamafit® or some Personal Training sessions please get in contact.
